I liked studying about energy sources that generate electricity because we got to make brochure about one of the energy sources that we studied about plus we made slides for each five parts of the research and the best part was that we did not need to memorize anything! Another reason why I liked this was because we learned many interesting facts about those energy sources (biomass, geothermal, wind, hydro, coal, and nuclear) such as garbage can be burned to generate electricity in the process of biomass, biomass was used when the caveman first discovered fire, and we learned how each energy sources generate electricity!
One of the first things we learned was about animal and plant cells; vacuole, epidermis, cytoplasm, mitochondria, guard cell, chlorophyll, and etc. For this chapter, we made a power point presentation, each slide contained the picture of the cell and we had to memorize all the information about each cell. Another thing we learned about was the Earth; layers of earth, plates, earthquakes, volcanoes, rocks and minerals. We made power point for it too and we memorized all the information. Universe was another thing we learned about in the class; sun, moon, day/night, seasons, solar eclipses, galaxies, planets, light-years, mid-sized stars, constellation, asteroid and comets. We made power point presentation for this one too and we had to memorize the information too. (If we did any power point presentation, we had to memorize it!) You can apply some of the things learned to the real world. For instance, if you grow a plant, you would know not to cover the stoma of the leaves of the plant that you are growing because it would die if you did. You would know that you would need to give the plant some water and you would need to place where the sunlight would hit it. You would know that the plant needs all of this to survive and more. If you like studying the night sky and you would want someone else you know to be able to study the sky too, then you could remember about the constellations and tell them how to study sky and they would know how to study it too!!! There are many other ways that you can apply what you have learned to the real world such as earthquakes and volcanoes plus the ones in this paragraph are only few of them.
